- It can be caused by four related viruses. 1
- Dengue virus (4 types) spread by the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes, which bite mostly in daytime and breed in clean stored water, tyres, pots and coolers. 1
- When to seek care: EMERGENCY, go now: severe belly pain, repeated vomiting, bleeding from gums or nose, blood in vomit or stool, very tired or restless, cold clammy skin, fast breathing. 1
