2. Key Health Sector Response and Coordination:

Dr. Hemant Chandra Ojha, Chief of the Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit
(HEDMU/HEOC), conducted a field monitoring visit to affected local levels and surrounding
areas of Nuwakot and Rasuwa District, together with the team from the National Disaster Risk
Reduction and Management Authority, to observe and assess the status of health services,
health needs of local communities, and potential health risks in areas affected and damaged by
the Bhotekoshi River flood.

A team from the Department of Health Services (DoHS) and GIZ, in coordination with officials
from the District Public Health Office, Rasuwa, and Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, conducted a
field inspection of flood-affected health facilities in Rasuwa District. The visit focused on
assessing and coordinating measures to ensure continuity of health services, establishment of
temporary health facilities, and regular supply of medicines, vaccines, and other essential health
commodities.
