Copyright and sound policy

What we host

DigiNepal does not host commercial songs, film or Bollywood music, or record-label recordings in its sound library. The library contains only:

• DigiNepal Originals — instrumental music composed and synthesised by our own software. No samples or third-party recordings are used.
• Recited public-domain texts — ancient mantras and verses (for example Om Namah Shivaya, the Gayatri mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum). The texts are thousands of years old and free of copyright; the recordings are our own, made with a self-hosted synthetic voice (Piper ne_NP-google-medium, CC BY-SA 4.0) over music we composed. These tracks are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0.
• CC0 / public-domain recordings — only with a verified licence, source and proof stored for each track. None are in the library today.

We do not use "royalty-free" catalogues whose terms forbid redistribution inside an app sound library.

Sounds shared by members

• Members may upload audio only if they own it or have the right to share it, and must confirm this every time.
• Members choose Only me or Others can use this sound. Shared sounds are credited to the member's @handle with a link back.
• Every upload gets an audio fingerprint. Exact copies of a library sound or of another member's sound are refused, and audio removed after a copyright notice cannot be uploaded again.
• Fingerprinting finds copies of audio already on DigiNepal. It does not yet recognise commercial music from outside DigiNepal, so reports from rights holders matter.

Takedown notices

If you own the rights to audio or video on DigiNepal and did not allow it, send us:

1. your name and contact details (and whom you represent, if anyone);
2. the work you own (title, link or description);
3. the DigiNepal link or sound name that uses it;
4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised, and that the information is accurate.

We review notices promptly. When we remove a sound, it can no longer be used for new videos and cannot be re-uploaded; videos already published with it keep their audio but show "Sound unavailable". Each removal is a strike on the uploader's account; after three strikes in a year, sound uploads are paused. If you believe a removal was a mistake, reply to the notice email or contact support with the details and we will review it.

Library licence record

Every library track with its licence, author and text source. Proof of origin for each is stored with the track.
