माओत्से तुंग एक चीनी साम्यवादी क्रांतिकारी, राजनीतिक सिद्धांतकार और पीपुल्स रिपब्लिक ऑफ चाइना (पीआरसी) के संस्थापक थे। उन्होंने मुख्य रूप से चीनी कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (सी. सी. पी.) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में अपनी भूमिका के माध्यम से 1949 से 1976 में अपनी मृत्यु तक चीन के सर्वोपरि नेता के रूप में कार्य किया। माओत्से तुंग विचार, जिसकी उन्होंने मार्क्सवाद-लेनिनवाद के चीनी रूपांतरण के रूप में वकालत की, ने दुनिया भर में आंदोलनों और माओवादी संगठनों को प्रभावित किया।
