Nilotinib is an inhibitor of the BCR-ABL kinase, which stabilizes the inactive conformation of the kinase domain of the ABL protein. In vitro studies show that nilotinib inhibits the proliferation of murine leukemic cell lines and human cell lines derived from patients with Ph+ CML. This drug is used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and other blood cancers involving the BCR-ABL kinase.
