The main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 ft), the lower western peak is 6,170 metres (20,243 ft). The name Ama Dablam literally means 'mother's charm box' in the Sherpa language; the long ridges on each side like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women. For several days, Ama Dablam dominates the eastern sky for anyone trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp. Because of its soaring ridges and steep faces, Ama Dablam is sometimes referred as the \"Matterhorn of the Himalayas\". The mountain is featured on the one rupee Nepalese banknote.","summary_more":[],"facts":[{"key":"type","label":"Type","values":[{"text":"mountain","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q8502"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697#P31"}},{"key":"located_in","label":"Located in","values":[{"text":"Sagarmatha Zone (zone of Nepal)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q9195","page":"https://diginpl.com/places/sagarmatha-zone"},{"text":"Eastern Development Region (development region of Nepal)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q28576","page":"https://diginpl.com/places/eastern-development-region-nepal"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697#P131"}},{"key":"elevation","label":"Elevation","values":[{"text":"6,814 m","value":6814.0}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697#P2044"}},{"key":"prominence","label":"Prominence","values":[{"text":"1,027 m","value":1027.0}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697#P2660"}},{"key":"range","label":"Mountain range","values":[{"text":"Mahalangur Himal","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q924257","page":"https://diginpl.com/places/mahalangur-himal"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697#P4552"}}],"office":null,"sections":[],"cited":[],"cited_from":null,"videos":[],"last_reviewed":null,"organizations":[],"same_as":["https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ama_Dablam","https://ne.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%A4%86%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%BE_%E0%A4%A6%E0%A4%AC%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B2%E0%A4%AE_%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%B2","https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697"],"faq":[{"q":"Where is Ama Dablam located?","a":"Ama Dablam is located in Sagarmatha Zone, Eastern Development Region, Nepal."},{"q":"What is the elevation of Ama Dablam?","a":"Ama Dablam is at an elevation of 6,814 m above sea level."}],"related":[],"places_in":[],"nearby":[{"name":"Dingboche","url":"https://diginpl.com/places/dingboche","km":4.6},{"name":"Imja Tsho","url":"https://diginpl.com/places/imja-tsho","km":7.3},{"name":"Taboche","url":"https://diginpl.com/places/taboche","km":9.0},{"name":"Island Peak","url":"https://diginpl.com/places/island-peak","km":9.4},{"name":"Khumbu Glacier","url":"https://diginpl.com/places/khumbu-glacier","km":9.6},{"name":"Kangtega","url":"https://diginpl.com/places/kangtega","km":9.7}],"image":{"url":"https://thumb.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/29/Himalayas%2C_Ama_Dablam%2C_Nepal.jpg/960px-Himalayas%2C_Ama_Dablam%2C_Nepal.jpg","width":640,"height":427,"license":"CC BY 4.0","credit":"Vyacheslav Argenberg","page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Himalayas,_Ama_Dablam,_Nepal.jpg"},"sources":[{"label":"Wikipedia (English): Ama Dablam","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ama_Dablam","license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/"},{"label":"Wikipedia (Nepali): आमा दब्लम हिमाल","url":"https://ne.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%A4%86%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%BE_%E0%A4%A6%E0%A4%AC%E0%A5%8D%E0%A4%B2%E0%A4%AE_%E0%A4%B9%E0%A4%BF%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%B2","license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/"},{"label":"Wikidata item Q451697","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q451697","license":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},{"label":"Image: Himalayas, Ama Dablam, Nepal.jpg by Vyacheslav Argenberg (CC BY 4.0)","url":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Himalayas,_Ama_Dablam,_Nepal.jpg","license":null}],"license":{"text":"CC BY-SA 4.0","url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/","facts":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},"attribution":"Text from the Wikipedia article Ama Dablam, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.
