Abu Marwan then moved on to Girona, which he attempted to occupy on October 10, 827. The Emperor Louis the Pious, knowing of the Muslim raid, ordered his son Pepin I of Aquitaine and the counts Hugh of Tours and Matfrid of Orléans to recruit an army, but the recruitment was slow and by the time it was formed, Abu Marwan and his army had returned to Muslim territory. The rebels abandoned the country with them (827)."],"facts":[{"key":"died","label":"Died","values":[{"text":"823","date":"0823"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7876443#P570"}},{"key":"citizenship","label":"Citizenship","values":[{"text":"al-Andalus","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q123559"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7876443#P27"}},{"key":"occupation","label":"Occupation","values":[{"text":"military personnel","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q47064"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7876443#P106"}},{"key":"positions","label":"Positions held","values":[{"text":"emir of Cordoba","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q14565744"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7876443#P39"}}],"office":null,"sections":[],"cited":[],"cited_from":null,"videos":[],"last_reviewed":null,"organizations":[],"same_as":["https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubayd_Allah_Abu_Marwan","https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7876443"],"faq":[{"q":"What positions has Ubayd Allah Abu Marwan held?","a":"Positions held by Ubayd Allah Abu Marwan include: emir of Cordoba."}],"related":[{"name":"Abd al-Rahman I","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/abd-al-rahman-i"},{"name":"Abd al-Rahman III","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/abd-al-rahman-iii"},{"name":"Al-Hakam I","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/al-hakam-i"},{"name":"Muhammad I of Córdoba","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/muhammad-i-of-cordoba"},{"name":"Al-Mundhir of Córdoba","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/al-mundhir-of-cordoba"},{"name":"Abd ar-Rahman II","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/abd-ar-rahman-ii"}],"places_in":[],"nearby":[],"image":null,"sources":[{"label":"Wikipedia (English): Ubayd Allah Abu Marwan","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubayd_Allah_Abu_Marwan","license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/"},{"label":"Wikidata item Q7876443","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7876443","license":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"}],"license":{"text":"CC BY-SA 4.0","url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/","facts":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},"attribution":"Text from the Wikipedia article Ubayd Allah Abu Marwan, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.
