Subsequently, King Hussein asked him to form a government; it was the first elected government in Jordan's history.","Nabulsi's government was short-lived. His policies as Prime Minister frequently clashed with that of King Hussein's. Nabulsi wanted Jordan to move closer to Egypt under Gamal Abdel Nasser, but Hussein wanted it to stay in the Western camp. Disagreements between the monarchy and the leftist government culminated after Nabulsi provided Hussein with an expanded list of officers in the army he wanted to dismiss. Nabulsi was forced to resign in April 1957, following an alleged coup attempt against Hussein."],"facts":[{"key":"born","label":"Born","values":[{"text":"1908","date":"1908"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P569"}},{"key":"birthplace","label":"Place of birth","values":[{"text":"Salt","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q867586"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P19"}},{"key":"died","label":"Died","values":[{"text":"14 October 1976","date":"1976-10-14"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P570"}},{"key":"deathplace","label":"Place of death","values":[{"text":"Amman","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3805"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P20"}},{"key":"citizenship","label":"Citizenship","values":[{"text":"Jordan","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q810"},{"text":"Emirate of Transjordan","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1121819"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P27"}},{"key":"occupation","label":"Occupation","values":[{"text":"diplomat","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q193391"},{"text":"economist","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q188094"},{"text":"politician","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q82955"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P106"}},{"key":"education","label":"Education","values":[{"text":"American University of Beirut","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q469482"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P69"}},{"key":"positions","label":"Positions held","values":[{"text":"Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan (15 April 1957 – 24 April 1957)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q20716373","start":"1957-04-15","end":"1957-04-24"},{"text":"Prime Minister of Jordan (29 October 1956 – 14 April 1957)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q7243300","start":"1956-10-29","end":"1957-04-14"},{"text":"Minister of Finance (4 February 1947 – 27 December 1947)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110067022","start":"1947-02-04","end":"1947-12-27"},{"text":"ambassador","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q121998"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678#P39"}}],"office":null,"sections":[],"cited":[],"cited_from":null,"videos":[],"last_reviewed":null,"organizations":[],"same_as":["https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suleiman_Nabulsi","https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678"],"faq":[{"q":"When was Suleiman Nabulsi born?","a":"Suleiman Nabulsi was born on 1908 in Salt."},{"q":"What positions has Suleiman Nabulsi held?","a":"Positions held by Suleiman Nabulsi include: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan (1957–1957); Prime Minister of Jordan (1956–1957); Minister of Finance (1947–1947); ambassador."},{"q":"Where did Suleiman Nabulsi study?","a":"Suleiman Nabulsi was educated at American University of Beirut."}],"related":[{"name":"Bisher Khasawneh","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/bisher-khasawneh"},{"name":"Hani Mulki","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/hani-mulki"},{"name":"Hussein Khalidi","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/hussein-khalidi"},{"name":"Taher Masri","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/taher-masri"},{"name":"Fawzi Mulki","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/fawzi-mulki"},{"name":"Abdelhamid Sharaf","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/abdelhamid-sharaf"},{"name":"Marouf al-Bakhit","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/marouf-al-bakhit"},{"name":"Omar Razzaz","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/omar-razzaz"},{"name":"Abdullah Ensour","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/abdullah-ensour"},{"name":"Fayez Tarawneh","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/fayez-tarawneh"},{"name":"Awn Al-Khasawneh","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/awn-al-khasawneh"}],"places_in":[],"nearby":[],"image":{"url":"https://diginpl.com/kb-img/suleiman-nabulsi-1b72b48816.jpg","width":500,"height":604,"license":"Public domain","credit":"Loomis Dean","page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sulayman_Nabulsi.jpg"},"sources":[{"label":"Wikipedia (English): Suleiman Nabulsi","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suleiman_Nabulsi","license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/"},{"label":"Wikidata item Q524678","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q524678","license":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},{"label":"Image: Sulayman Nabulsi.jpg by Loomis Dean (Public domain)","url":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Sulayman_Nabulsi.jpg","license":null}],"license":{"text":"CC BY-SA 4.0","url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/","facts":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},"attribution":"Text from the Wikipedia article Suleiman Nabulsi, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.
