The son of a Hungarian Jewish and working-class family, he was child laborer who acquired skills in metallurgy, moving from his native Nagyvárad (Oradea) to Budapest. Breiner was also involved in the labor unrest, and joined the Social Democratic Party of Hungary at age sixteen. His contribution in the field of socialist propaganda made him a political suspect by the time of World War I, and he was punished with conscription into the Hungarian Landwehr—though he continued to proselytize among his fellow soldiers. Breiner was enthusiastic about the Aster Revolution, and went on to fight for the Hungarian Soviet Republic, resulting in his brief imprisonment by the Romanian Land Forces during the expedition of 1919.","summary_more":[],"facts":[{"key":"born","label":"Born","values":[{"text":"13 February 1896","date":"1896-02-13"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P569"}},{"key":"birthplace","label":"Place of birth","values":[{"text":"Oradea","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q93358"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P19"}},{"key":"died","label":"Died","values":[{"text":"10 March 1940","date":"1940-03-10"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P570"}},{"key":"deathplace","label":"Place of death","values":[{"text":"Bucharest","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q19660"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P20"}},{"key":"citizenship","label":"Citizenship","values":[{"text":"Hungary","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q28"},{"text":"Kingdom of Romania","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q203493"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P27"}},{"key":"occupation","label":"Occupation","values":[{"text":"revolutionary","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q3242115"},{"text":"political activist","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q11499147"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P106"}},{"key":"party","label":"Political party","values":[{"text":"Romanian Communist Party","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q256121"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P102"}},{"key":"positions","label":"Positions held","values":[{"text":"Secretary General of the Romanian Communist Party (1938–1940)","wikidata":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q134101427","start":"1938","end":"1940-03-10"}],"source":{"label":"Wikidata","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753#P39"}}],"office":null,"sections":[],"cited":[],"cited_from":null,"videos":[],"last_reviewed":null,"organizations":[],"same_as":["https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A9la_Breiner","https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753"],"faq":[{"q":"When was Béla Breiner born?","a":"Béla Breiner was born on 13 February 1896 in Oradea."},{"q":"What positions has Béla Breiner held?","a":"Positions held by Béla Breiner include: Secretary General of the Romanian Communist Party (1938–1940)."}],"related":[{"name":"Nicolae Ceaușescu","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/nicolae-ceausescu"},{"name":"Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/gheorghe-gheorghiu-dej"},{"name":"Emil Bodnăraș","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/emil-bodnaras"},{"name":"Constantin Pîrvulescu","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/constantin-pirvulescu"},{"name":"Elek Köblös","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/elek-koblos"},{"name":"Gheorghe Cristescu","url":"https://diginpl.com/people/gheorghe-cristescu"}],"places_in":[],"nearby":[],"image":{"url":"https://diginpl.com/kb-img/bela-breiner-e49472d362.jpg","width":500,"height":656,"license":"Public domain","credit":"Anonymous Unknown author","page":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:B%C3%A9la_Breiner.png"},"sources":[{"label":"Wikipedia (English): Béla Breiner","url":"https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A9la_Breiner","license":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/"},{"label":"Wikidata item Q110131753","url":"https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q110131753","license":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},{"label":"Image: Béla Breiner.png by Anonymous Unknown author (Public domain)","url":"https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:B%C3%A9la_Breiner.png","license":null}],"license":{"text":"CC BY-SA 4.0","url":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/","facts":"https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"},"attribution":"Text from the Wikipedia article Béla Breiner, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0.
