💊 Cefuroxime

💊 This is information only, not a prescription. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine. For an overdose or poisoning, call 102.

Common side effects

Cefuroxime is generally well tolerated. The most common adverse effects have been local reactions following IV administration. Other adverse reactions have been encountered only rarely. Local Reactions: Thrombophlebitis has occurred with IV administration in 1 in 60 patients. Pregnancy (label summary): There are, however, no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Because animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response, this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Breastfeeding (label summary): Nursing Mothers Since cefuroxime is excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when cefuroxime is administered to a nursing woman. General information only, not medical advice and not a prescription. No doses are given. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping or changing any medicine, especially in pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, older age or with other medicines.
